Polished rod:
A polished rod is a product that has only undergone polishing, that is, polishing the original rod, without processes such as chrome plating or rolling. Because its surface hardness is relatively low, its smoothness is better than that of a chrome-plated rod.
Polished rods generally use stainless steel as the material; polished rods of different materials have different functions. For example,316LStainless steel polished rods have low molybdenum and carbon content, and have excellent pitting corrosion resistance in marine and chemical industrial environments.304Stainless steel polished rods have good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low-temperature strength and mechanical properties, good hot workability such as stamping and bending, and no heat treatment hardening phenomenon.
Chrome-plated rods:
A chrome-plated rod is a rod product, mainly after electroplating on the surface of silver steel support, forming a layer of hardness up to50-60of chromium element rod, the chrome plating layer formed on the surface has good wear resistance, good corrosion resistance, good heat resistance, and strong light reflectivity.
Chrome-plated rods generally use45steel and40Crsteel as their materials. Generally speaking, chrome-plated rods of different materials have different functions. For example,45Steel chrome-plated rods have good mechanical properties and high strength and good machinability. Especially after tempering or normalizing, it can obtain better machinability, strength, and toughness. While40CrSteel chrome-plated rods, after appropriate heat treatment, can obtain certain toughness, plasticity, and wear resistance. Of course, chrome-plated rods made of these two materials both have high hardness.
